Not Web Design, not Web Development, not Front End, not Web Apps. Websites are usually the end product, so that's what I say I do. Designing the site is part of that - not just how it looks aesthetically (although that is very important), but how it functions, what interactions it allows the user, what the intention is behind the homepage, what I (the creator) want the user to do when they land on the site.
I take pride in making fresh, modern, accessible websites, and I would love to work with you on our next project. Get in touch if you would like that too!
I don't really like to make a distinction between Web Design and Development, I think they are both part of the same job - making your website! But of course there is a difference, it's just that I do both, and don't really like to separate them. Maybe I should combine them into Digital Design.
Web Development is the bones of your site. It can look slick and pretty, but if there's not a solid base behind it, it's not going to get very far. I use Couch CMS as the backend of our sites, this lets me get on with building your site without worrying about fitting it into a CMS platform.
If you need something more from your site than just a brochure, I can handle that. We've created complex booking systems, call logging systems, corporate design toolkits, social education applications. If you have an idea for a site, but aren't quite sure if it's possible - get in touch! I'll probably say "Hmmm, that doesn't sound like it would work" at first, and then start thinking about exactly how I can get the job done...
Proper, specifically targetted SEO costs a fair bit - it can be hundreds of pounds a month. It is a time-consuming, repetetive process, which is why it costs so much. Anyone who promises you a "full SEO service" and isn't charging a hefty monthly rate is probably not doing it properly.
At Sprucemoose, I lay the foundations for more serious off-page SEO work. Over the years I have developed an on-page SEO checklist that I follow when building every site - from CMS generated sitemaps to adding social sharing meta tags on every page - each step is taken with a firm SEO strategy in mind. I can recommend an SEO partner to you if you want to take the next step, but this will not be covered in the site quote/cost for your Sprucemoose site. I specialise in building SEO friendly sites - for proper off-page SEO I will defer to the experts in that field.
Key Reservations are a client I have worked for frequently over the last decade. I've created various brochure/campaign sites, a dedicated hotel booking system for a large client they had, a Personal Assistant site, a Diving Site... It was finally time to update their main site. The site was over…
Natalie is an internationally acclaimed hair designer, who has worked with some of the best in the business. Her site badly needed an overhaul - it was a few years old, and was largely based on her showreel video, which autoplayed (with music - a pet hate of mine) on…
